Mandatory Playing Time Rule

The rule that is abused the most, bar none, is the mandatory playing time rule. In its simplest form, it means each player will start on either offense or defense and play for the entire game; special teams does not count towards mandatory playing time. It does not mean they will start for a half and then be substituted for. Players may be shifted from offense to defense during the game, but they still must play the entire game. The easiest way to ensure this rule is followed is that everytime the ball changes hands from offense to defense (or vice versa), the players not on the field enter the game.

Below is the exact rule taken from the coaches manual:

Each player dressing and attending a game will have a starting position on offense and/or defense and play the entire game. Each time the ball changes hands from offense to defense, players not on the field must enter the game. Two-way players may be substituted for at any time. One-way players may not be substituted, except in the case of injury.  A players starting position may be changed from offense to defense or vice versa, for half of the game.

This will be adhered to providing the player:
1) Attends practice regularly
2) Displays an attitude of cooperation toward coaches and teammates.
3) is physically ready to play.

Coaches can only withhold a player from all or part of a game for an unexcused absence from practice, lack of cooperation toward coaches, teammates, referees, or behavioral issues if he:
1) Maintains attendance records for all players.

2) Brings attendance records to the games.
3) Documents cooperation and behavioral issues.

4) Notifies the player, parents, opposing coach, and the Board before the game, unless the incident occurred during the game, then player, parents, and Board shall be notified before the next scheduled event (practice or game).

Coaches must inform parents of any problems and outline the reasons for not allowing a player to participate.

Failure to abide by the above mandatory playing time rules will subject the violating coach to possible forfeit of game and/or games.

Concession Stand Tickets

Please have your team parent purchase concession tickets from the Concession Stand. Tickets are $1 each and redeemable for any food or drink sold and can be used from the first game through Super Sunday. Tickets speed up the sales at the window and make it easier on parents by not having to hand out cash to their children at the end of the night. Our recommendation would be to purchase 2 tickets per player per game & include that cost in the team fees to your parents.

Remember - the more our concession stand is supported, the less likely we will need to institute a fundraiser!
